Suncorp

As Australia’s leading insurance group, Suncorp is on a mission to bring resilience to every street in Australia. So we made one of Australia’s most disaster-prone roads, its strongest.

CASE STUDY - Resilience Rd.

“We simply can’t continue on a cycle of cleaning up. We actually have to start focusing on how we can make our homes and communities more resilient to weather events before they happen”

Bernadette Norrie - Executive Manager Suncorp Insurance

Suncorp’s One House project brought ideas from industry experts into one resilient design, which was scientifically tested to stand up to bushfire, flood and storm.

Resilience Road involved taking what we learnt from One House and applying it to real homes and real families on a street.

Story of Resilience Rd. - 6 minutes

Five neighbouring homes were chosen on a vulnerable street in the Central Queensland town of Rockhampton.

Each house was analysed by experts, and upgraded with resilient features, so it could withstand whatever mother nature throws at it.
